Greenway Endocrinology, PA is a group practice specializing in diabetes, endocrinology and metabolic disorders. The practice was started by Dr. Faranak Sotoudeh in 1974 and expanded with the addition of Dr. Irfan Khan in 2006 and Dr. Neeharika Repaka in 2017.
We currently provide outpatient endocrinology consultative services in our Greenbelt office, and inpatient consultative services at Prince George's Hospital Center. All of our physicians are university trained and board certified in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism.
Irfan Khan, MD
Born and raised in Massachusetts, Dr. Khan graduated from the University of Massachusetts Medical School in 2001 and completed his Residency in Internal Medicine at the George Washington University in 2004 and then went on to complete his Fellowship in Endocrinology at the George Washington University in 2006; at which time he joined Greenway Endocrinology. He is board certified in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism. He practices general endocrinology and has an interest in thyroid disorders and is an expert in ultrasound guided thyroid FNA.
Neeharika Repaka, MD
Dr. Repaka is a native to the DC metro area, having lived in Virginia and Maryland for most of her life. She completed her Residency in Internal Medicine at Sinai-Grace Hospital in Detroit in 2014 and went on to serve as Chief Resident for an additional year. She then completed her Fellowship in Endocrinology at Howard University Hospital in 2017. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism. Her interests include diabetes, thyroid disorders, and female hormone disorders. Dr. Repaka joined Greenway Endocrinology in July 2017.
Helen Chemere, PA-C
Helen is a certified Physician Assistant who received her undergraduate degree in Chemistry from West Virginia University. She then attended Chatham University where she received her Masters of Science/Physician Assistant degree in 2013.
Prior to joining us, Helen practiced endocrinology in Annapolis for over two years. Her experience includes treating patients with diabetes, thyroid disease, polycystic ovarian syndrome, and other endocrine disorders. Helen loves Endocrinology and helping patients understand current health care options to improve their quality of life. Ms. Chemere joined Greenway Endocrinology in September 2016.
Sana Akbar, MD
Dr. Akbar was born and raised in Pakistan and relocated to Chattanooga, Tennessee with her family. She completed her Residency in Internal Medicine at University of Tennessee College of Medicine, Chattanooga in 2016. She then completed her Fellowship in Endocrinology at George Washington University in 2018. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and board eligible in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism. Her interests include diabetes, insulin pump therapy, thyroid disorders, and pregnancy-related endocrine disorders. Dr. Akbar will join Greenway Endocrinology in September 2020.
